Domicile, Residence, Income and Caste Certificates in Gurugram

Need a Haryana resident, income or caste certificate for an admission, a job or a scheme?

Updated

These certificates are issued by Haryana's revenue authorities and are applied for online through Saral, often drawing on the family's Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) data. Getting the eligibility and supporting documents right first time saves weeks. GurugramHelp assists with applications and corrections.

How do I get a Haryana domicile certificate?

Apply through Saral Haryana with proof of residence in the state for the required period, ID and the family’s details. Revenue officials verify the application before the certificate is issued.

Which certificate?

  • Resident (domicile) certificate: proof that you're a bona fide resident of Haryana, used for admissions, jobs and schemes
  • Income certificate: the family's annual income, used for fee concessions, scholarships and schemes
  • Caste certificate: SC or BC status for reservations and schemes, with additional requirements for BC categories

Family ID first

Many Haryana services now read family details from the Parivar Pehchan Patra. If the Family ID shows the wrong income, members or address, the certificate application can fail, so fixing the Family ID is often step one.

Documents commonly involved

  • Family ID number
  • Aadhaar and other ID
  • Proof of residence in Haryana
  • Income proof or self-declaration, as applicable
  • Caste proof of the family, such as a parent's earlier certificate

Common questions

How long is an income certificate valid?

Validity depends on the certificate and the purpose; many institutions want a recently issued income certificate.

Can I apply if I moved to Gurugram from another state?

Eligibility for a Haryana resident certificate depends on meeting the state's residence criteria. Check them on Saral before applying.

My application was rejected. What now?

Read the reason, fix the underlying issue (often the Family ID data or a missing document) and reapply, rather than resubmitting the same file.
