Most citizen services in Haryana now start online, on portals such as Saral, the Family ID portal, the Civil Registration System and the municipal corporation's site. The trouble usually lies in picking the right service, matching the documents and following up. GurugramHelp assists with applications, corrections and retrieving records.
Why applications get stuck
- The wrong service was chosen from several similar ones
- Details don't match between Aadhaar, the Family ID and other documents
- An upload was rejected or an OTP went to an old number
- The status has said 'pending' for weeks with no explanation
Certificates & government services
Certificates
- Birth & death certificates Births and deaths are registered with the local registrar under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969, and certificates are issued through the Civil Registration System.
- Marriage registration A marriage certificate is official proof of marriage, asked for in passport and visa applications, bank and insurance records and name changes.
- Domicile, income & caste These certificates are issued by Haryana's revenue authorities and are applied for online through Saral, often drawing on the family's Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID) data.
Family, land and police records
- Family ID (PPP) The Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), or Family ID, is Haryana's family-level database.
- Jamabandi & land records The jamabandi is Haryana's record of rights for land: it shows owners, their shares, cultivation and other entries for each khasra number.
- Police verification Haryana Police verifies tenants, domestic help and employees and issues character certificates, mostly through its online citizen services.
Municipal and development authorities
- MCG property tax & NOC The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) keeps the property tax records for property in its area and issues NOCs and other permissions.
- HSVP & building plans Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), formerly HUDA, manages sector plots and allotments, and its records have to be updated for transfers, NOCs and conveyance.
