Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) and DIN Assistance in Gurugram

Need a digital signature for a filing or a tender?

Updated

A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) lets you sign electronic documents and filings securely. It is issued by licensed Certifying Authorities after identity verification and is used for MCA, GST, income tax, e-tendering and more. Company directors also need a Director Identification Number (DIN). GurugramHelp assists with both.

How do I get a digital signature certificate?

Apply to a licensed Certifying Authority and complete identity verification, usually Aadhaar-based eKYC or PAN-based verification with a video check. The certificate is then issued, typically on a USB token. Class 3 certificates are the standard for most government filings.

Where you'll use a DSC

  • Company and LLP incorporation and filings with the MCA
  • GST and income tax filings for businesses that must sign digitally
  • Government e-tenders and e-procurement
  • Signing contracts and documents electronically

DIN and director KYC

A DIN is a unique number for each company director, usually allotted while incorporating a company or appointing a new director. Directors then have to keep their DIN KYC up to date with the MCA at the intervals the rules require, or the DIN can be deactivated.

Common problems

  • A name mismatch between PAN and Aadhaar blocking eKYC
  • The token not recognised, or the certificate expired
  • The DSC issued in a slightly different name from the MCA record
  • A DIN deactivated for missed KYC

How GurugramHelp helps

We help you apply for the right class of certificate, sort out name mismatches before verification, and assist with DIN and director KYC.

Common questions

How long is a DSC valid?

Digital signature certificates are usually issued for one, two or three years, depending on what you choose.

Can I use one DSC for everything?

A Class 3 signing certificate works for most filings, though some tenders also need an encryption certificate.

What happens if my DIN is deactivated?

A DIN can be deactivated if the KYC isn't filed on time. It is reactivated by filing the KYC with the applicable fee.
